In 2014, Wilsons fame exploded to the other side of the Atlantic in a greater way after she was cast on Showtimes The Affair as Alison Lockhart a troubled young woman with a dark past who gets involved with a married man named Noah Solloway. Wilson received the Golden Globe award for Best Actress in a Television Series Drama, alongside Mauratierney and Joshua Jackson. Wilson in an interview with British Vogue during the year 2015 told British Vogue that she loved acting in two distinct perspectives. Noah believes that Alison is an attractive, confident and reckless persona of her. However, she perceives her self in a different manner and as someone who's shy and dowdy on the inside. The actress said "I consider that America is such a moral country and that they are too judgemental. The way they conduct themselves in the show appears horrifying." Wilson has since left the show much to the surprise of viewers. But Wilson did not provide additional specifics. I was tempted to quit however she refused to permit me to talk about it. She starred with the film of horror I Am the Pretty Thing Who Lives in The House in 2016, and later in the sci-fi romance How to Talk to Girls at Parties, playing the cryptic PT Stella. In 2018, she will be adding an additional horror movie in her resume when she stars in The Little Stranger, a British remake of The Little Stranger, a supernatural thriller based on the book by Sarah Waters. Wilson is executive producing the movie.
